The Empty Nesters is for congregants whose children have left the nest (or never had any children to begin with). Possible activities include hikes, dinners, outings, wine tastings, etc. Contact Ann Goldblatt, 841-0900, anngoldblatt@aol.com for more info about the Empty Nesters.

TEMPLE SINAI SOCIAL ACTION
The Social Action Committee is pleased to announce our partnership with one
of the community’s jewels, Kingsley House, a social agency with 110 years of
service to the children and families of New Orleans.  Members of the Temple
Sinai community have the opportunity to make the difference in a child’s
life by volunteering at Kingsley House, 1600 Constance Street.  Kingsley
House offers programs for children ages 5-12 and teens ages 13-17.

For the younger set Kingsley House is in need of volunteers in their after
school program, from 3-5pm Monday through Friday.  Here a volunteer can help
with homework assignments, tutor (one-on-one and group) or, with a
particular skill, work in the Arts and Crafts area.  (A special need is
someone to teach ceramics and pottery, with a kiln on site).

The Teen program is Monday through Thursday from 5-7 pm when Kingsley House
provides a safe haven for the teen-agers.  Popular among the youth they
serve at this time are the computer lab and the gym where a basketball team
is in the beginning stages.  In addition, Arts and Crafts are in demand.

If you have questions on how you can help or want to more about any of these
programs, call Youth Service Manager, Pushpa Ramaiah, GSW at 523-6221,
extension 188.  Please let Pushpa know you are with Temple Sinai.
